The Australian  Charities and Not For Profits Commission , also otherwise known as ACNC, is the chief authority to regulate charity organizations and not-for-profits in Australia. Its primary mandate is three-fold: 1. To register charities and not for profit organizations 2. To make sure they are compliant with the Australian legal requirements 3. To maintain a publicly available register of all member organizations   One of its major goals is to instil, safeguard and augment the public’s faith in the Australian charity organizations . It aims to do so while also lending its support towards sustaining a strong and active not for profit sector that is free from outside influence and functions in the spirit of innovation.
